To celebrate their nine years together, the group members held a FESTA Dinner on June 15, 2022 and revealed that they will be taking a break as a group to focus on solo activities.
However, many media and live TV programs have carried false reports with headlines including the phrases “disbandment” and “split up”. Soon after, HYBE CEO Jiwon Park released an official statement to clear the air of confusion and announced that the group would stay together and participate in group activities, including solo projects, for members to develop personally.

On June 15, 2022, HYBE officially announced that the initiators of K-pop would not go on hiatus and would resume group activities along with solo ventures, as The Associated Press reported.
The confusion arose after a translation of the group’s FESTA Dinner on YouTube displayed the word “hiatus”.
RM, V, and Jungkook as the members of BTS stated in their individual V Lives and Weverse letters that BTS is not dismantling but only trying to focus on their solo works for now.
On June 22, 2022, ARMYs took to Twitter and started trending the hashtag #BTSItsOkayToRest to express their never-ending love and support for the group members in every decision that they make. Fans flooded the internet with wholesome photos and videos promising the BangTan Boys that they would always have their backs.
Meanwhile, in terms of work, according to many K-media, BTS’ J-Hope will be the first member to release his solo album. Details about the rapper’s upcoming production have yet to be revealed. However, it is expected that J-Hope may share the information at the Lollapalooza music festival in July 2022.
