15 years in friendship
Travis and Kourtney had been friends for 15 years before they started dating, after Kim Kardashian introduced them. He was dating Paris Hilton at the time, and Kim was friends with and worked for her.
Travis inspired Kim to create her family’s reality television show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which turned the family’s fortunes around for the better.
Dating rumors began in 2018 but they denied it
Travis divorced his wife Shanna Moakler in 2008, despite having previously been married. Kourtney Kardashian later divorced Scott Disick, the father of her three children, in 2015.
Despite their early split, the first speculations of a reconciliation began only in 2018, when they were seen together on multiple occasions. Alabama, Travis’ daughter, also shared a photo of herself with Kourtney and her daughter Penelope.
They only started dating in 2021
“Kourtney is like a great friend,” Travis Barker said of dating Kourtney Kardashian in 2019. That’s it. I mean, I adore her to the point of obsession. I adore her entire family. But, hey, it’s only pals.”
All of that changed in February 2021, when the couple became Instagram official. Since then, their followers have been bombarded with lovey-dovey photos and protestations of affection for one another.
Scott Disick may not be a fan of Travis Barker, but the connection appears to be working for him. Meanwhile, the Kardashian-Jenner family is a fan of Barker, and Mason, Penelope, and Reign, Kourtney’s children, have been seen with him.
