House Party is a solid film about sneaking out to go to the largest party of the school year where shenanigans naturally ensue? Add in the wacky early ’90s clothing nostalgia, and that’s all the reasons to adore this movie!
The Parent Trap (1998)
I’ll say it again: this remake is superior to the original. But in all seriousness, young Lindsay Lohan gave a heartfelt performance and contributed to making one of the most moving summer movies ever!
Friday (1995)
The Friday trilogy’s first film is unquestionably the most famous and frequently referenced of the three. I really think this is a required summer watch because it follows two friends on one scorching summer day in their neighborhood and the hilarious mess they get themselves into.
Girls Trip (2017)
It’s so much fun and wonderful to watch this movie! Just a funny tale about a girls’ weekend in New Orleans where the ladies meet up with both each other and their courageous previous selves.
The Inkwell (1994)
A less well-known coming-of-age summer comedy, but one that is extremely entertaining! You should at least watch this story of love, culture shock, and exciting summer for a young child.
Dope (2015)
These teenagers embark on a wild excursion before the conclusion of their final year of high school in this contemporary coming-of-age comedy with ’90s vibes and lots of pretty California suburb images. An amusing movie, for sure!
Block Party (2022)
You should add this endearing movie about a family resolving their issues and organizing what may be their final annual neighborhood block celebration to your viewing list.
