Purple Mattress Review
Construction
The Purple mattress is a 9.5″ mattress and is built from a combination of foam and polymer. The top layer is a 2″ of hyper-elastic polymer which has the functions of cooling and decreasing pressure for the mattress.
The middle layer made of 3.5″ of polyurethane foam really provides much of the support for the Purple mattress. Finally, the foundational base for the mattress is the bottom layer covering 4″ of polyurethane foam.
Cover
Like Leesa, Purple’s moderately thin cover including viscose (27%), polyester (69%), and polyester-lycra (4%) has a good stretch and high level of breathability.
It looks quite good with a white scheme, a scattered diamond pattern, and “Purple” embossed on each side of the mattress. Overall, Purple’s cover is aesthetically pleasing and does a great job of breathing and stretching for a tight fit.
Firmness, Feel, & Support
Purple’s mattress is at a 6-6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. You can have a different feel when lying on Purple’s mattress and others because it has a top layer of hyper-elastic polymer.
Latex, Avena, and the Purple polymer all operate in the same way with respect to the rounded contour. This mattress which has a high degree of point elasticity will float anyone who is less than 130 pounds.
